Who Masjidy is
Masjidy is an Islamic donation platform. They launched a mobile app to make giving easier for their community, but most people opening it for the first time would have zero context on how it worked.
Outside the app, Masjidy runs an active YouTube channel and social pages, including recurring competitions where winners get a free Umrah ticket. All of that needed content on a steady weekly schedule.
Target audience
The challenge
A donation app is only useful if people actually know how to use it. The launch video needed to walk through the whole flow clearly enough that a first-time user could open the app and know exactly what to tap next, without it sounding like an ad.
On top of that, the brand needed a steady stream of content: weekly winner announcements, monthly Umrah ticket reveals, regular YouTube uploads. All of it had to look like the same brand, no matter the platform or format.
- Make the app's flow easy to follow for someone opening it cold
- Keep the edit informative, not flashy
- Build a repeatable template for the recurring announcements
- Keep one visual identity across YouTube, Reels, and static posts
My approach
- 01
Followed the real interface, screen by screen
The video mirrors exactly what a new user sees when they open the app — no staged mockups standing in for the real thing.
- 02
Clean over flashy
Cuts, captions, and pacing stayed simple on purpose. The point was to explain the interface, not upstage it.
- 03
One reusable template for announcements
Weekly winner posts and monthly Umrah ticket reveals run on the same template, so a new one goes out on schedule without rebuilding the format from scratch.
- 04
Cut for wherever it would be watched
Landscape for YouTube, vertical for Reels, same fonts and colors and pacing carried across both.
- 05
Kept the channel active, not just launched
Regular videos kept shipping alongside the launch push, so the channel didn't go quiet the week after.
The results
The application showcase video passed 12K+ views, one of the recurring announcement formats has crossed 100k+ views, and the channel now has 12 videos edited and published on a steady weekly schedule.
"We wanted something people could use without us having to explain it every time. That's what we got. The donation process feels simple, the app looks clean, and Alhamdulillah, we're happy with how it turned out."
