Plans change — here's exactly what happens if you need to cancel a project or retainer, with no fine-print surprises.

One-off projects

  • Before work begins: your deposit is refunded in full, minus any payment-processing fees.
  • After work begins: the deposit covers work completed to date. If the completed work exceeds the deposit's value, the difference is billed; if less, the remainder of the deposit is refunded pro-rata.
  • After first draft delivery: the project is considered substantially delivered and full payment applies. You receive all work completed.

Retainers

  • Cancel any time with 14 days' written notice (email is fine).
  • The current billing cycle runs to completion; no charges after it ends.
  • All work completed during the notice period is delivered as normal.
  • Unused capacity in a paid cycle does not roll over or convert to refunds, but I'll always try to ship something useful with it.

Cancellations on my side

In the rare case I have to cancel an engagement (illness, force majeure, or a conflict of interest), you receive all completed work plus a full refund of any amounts paid for undelivered work — whichever combination leaves you whole.

Rush and third-party costs

Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (licensed music, stock assets, fonts, plugins) are non-refundable once purchased, and are always itemized before purchase.

How to cancel
